Brussels: Iranians Rally in front of Belgium MFA to call to stop executions in Iran coincides with the 35th anniversary of the massacre of political prisoners in 1988 in Iran.


On Saturday, July 29, NCRI supporters in Belgium gathered in front of the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to demand an end to the increasing number of executions in Iran. This demonstration, which was held under heavy rain, was welcomed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium. In this demonstration, an exhibition of pictures of the martyrs of the 1988 massacre and an exhibition of the regime’s crimes in the use of execution to suppress and kill opponents were established near the demonstration site.

A delegation of demonstrators delivered a letter addressed to the Belgian Foreign Minister to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in which the necessity of the intervention of Belgium and European governments to stop executions in Iran and to prosecute regime leaders for gross human rights violations was emphasized.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium, while thanking the demonstrators for the presence and the holding of this exhibition, emphasized in a letter to the organizers of the demonstration, that Belgium is aware of the high number of executions in Iran, and this issue was discussed in the meeting of the Belgian Foreign Minister and the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mr. Turk.
