Brussels, February 25, 2025 – Amid growing concerns over the Iranian regime’s escalating nuclear activities and rising execution rates, supporters of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) staged a demonstration outside the EU Foreign Ministers Summit in Brussels at Schuman round-about this morning. The protesters called on European leaders to take decisive action against Tehran by activating the snapback mechanism to reinstate UN sanctions and designating the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization.
The demonstrators emphasized that the Iranian regime’s pursuit of nuclear weapons, coupled with a surge in domestic repression, poses a grave threat to global security and human rights. Demonstrators also called on the EU to take urgent measures to prevent the execution of political prisoners and to hold Tehran accountable for crimes against humanity. Recently the Iranian regime judiciary has rejected the retrial demand for Mehdi Hasani and Behrous Ehsani, two political prisoners in Iran affiliated with the PMOI/MEK, the main Iranian opposition group. Amnesty international and Amnesty Belgium have already issued urgent actions to save their lives.

They have also the pictures of Ms. Maryam Rajavi, the president elect of the NCRI whose 10-point plant for a Free Iran proposes a democratic republic based on gender equality, separation of religion and state, and a non-nuclear Iran. This progral has been endorsed by thousands of international figures.

Iran’s Growing Vulnerability
In recent years, Iran has faced nationwide uprisings and significant setbacks in its regional influence strategy, including the weakening of its support network in Syria. These challenges have left the regime at one of its weakest points in decades. In response, Iranian authorities have intensified crackdowns, including increased executions and suppression of political dissent.
