Brussels: Iranians commemorate the fourth anniversary of the Martyrs of the November 2019 uprising

The Iranian diaspora in Belgium is gathered today to show their solidarity with Iran Protests and to mark the 4th anniversary of the 2019 November uprising, which was dispersed by the Iranian dictatorship, massacring at least 1,500 protesters in a few days. The protesters are also expressing concerns over the recent death sentences for the detained protesters aiming at intimidating the public not to continue the protests that have shaken the foundations of the ruling clergies to the roots. The rally demands urgent actions by the Belgian government to pressure the regime to revoke the sentences and release all detained protesters.

While the Iran protests enter the third month, despite the heavy crackdown on the protesters starting yesterday, the protests have entered a new phase. Yesterday, the Bazaars in more than 50 cities went on strike, which has continued today. Also, students in at least 50 cities have joined the demonstrations at the university with slogans such as “Death to the dictator,” “From Zahedan to Tehran, I pledge my life for Iran’s freedom.” The protesters are also expressing concerns over the recent death sentences for the detained protesters aiming at intimidating the public not to continue the protests that have shaken the foundations of the ruling clergies to the roots. The rally demands urgent actions by the Belgian government to pressure the regime to revoke the sentences and release all detained protesters.

Let’s not forget that on October 15, 2022, the Iranian regime’s special units stormed the Notorious Evin Prison, setting two of the wards on fire and opening fire on defenseless detained protesters killing and wounding many of them. If the international community would not strongly object to the recent decisions by the mullahs’ Judiciary, they will proceed with the executions, as they did during their attack on Evin’s prison.
